Rob is the founder and President of Western Principles. His main focus is to ensure client success in their Project-Portfolio Management endeavours. Rob has over thirty years of client management and business experience with corporations such as Macromedia and IBM. He has a Bachelors Degree from University of Guelph and trained as a computer programmer at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology. Rob is a professional rock drummer, avid golfer, sometimes PGA caddie and skier when the weather permits. Rob lives in Vancouver, BC with his wife Lori where they get a great opportunity to enjoy all the outdoors has to offer.
Chris Schilling Vice President Technology
Chris is the VP of Technology at Western Principles. He is a project management professional who has successfully managed multiple global implementations of Microsoft’s Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solution (in excess of 100) and Microsoft Dynamics Ax (2009/2012 and Dynamics 365).
Greg Kastelein General Manager Eastern Canada
Greg Kastelein is General Manager for Western Principles in Eastern Canada. He looks after marketing, sales and client management. He is also part of the executive team helping with strategic direction of the company. During Greg’s time at Microsoft Canada he was responsible for a number of key initiatives where 2 were adopted as world wide best practices. He was also general manager for two well known US based software companies helping to establish a presence in Canada. Greg attended college in Winnipeg Manitoba in a computer analyst programmer program.
Greg lives in Waterdown Ontario with his partner Tracey and has four wonderful children.
Dave Jones General Manager Western Canada
Dave is Western Principles’ General Manager of the western division. With over 20 years of IT project management in hand, Dave has experience using Microsoft Project successfully for many complex projects in the telecommunications, customer service & CRM, billing, utility, and oil & gas sectors. Dave also spent several years with Oracle and the Primavera business unit educating customers about the benefits that project and portfolio management solutions . Dave brings extensive knowledge and experience to help solve customer’s project-centric business problems so that Western Principles’ clients can achieve their objectives and deliver their projects and portfolios better.
Gary Balaam Director EPM/PPM Practice
Gary is the Director of the EPM/PPM practice for Western Principles.
He has over thirty years of progressive business, portfolio and project management experience in various environments including Agile, Waterfall or a hybrid of the two.
Along with a PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute, his educational background includes the Advanced Certificate of Completion in Project Management from McMaster University, Hamilton, and a Masters Certificate in IT Project Management from The George Washington University – School of Business, Washington.
Chris Slowinski Senior PPM Technical/BA
Chris is a technical visionary and strategic thinker with over 17 years’ experience as an IT professional. He helps to successfully improve organizational efficiency and maturity through influence and collaboration. Employs exceptional intuition and analytical skills that deliver outstanding results. Passionate about investigating new ways and technologies to improve existing processes and systems that increase business value.
Sylvain Jacquet Senior PPM Technical/BA
Sylvain has over 10 years of experience with Microsoft PPM with in excess of over 25 implementations. He has worked with all sizes of private and public corporations in Canada and world-wide.
Sylvain is experienced in computer science and has a management background that allows him to quickly understand the requirements and expectations of a business team.
He utilizes a “keep-it-simple” approach regarding business process and tools required to match those process. Sylvain welcomes new challenges and enjoys assisting clients in solving their businesses problems.
Sylvain and his wife and two boys live in Vancouver and are loving their life as "new Canadians".
